Safe viewing
You never want to look directly at the sun without the appropriate eye protection. The light from the sun is so intense that it can actually burn the back of your eye. If you attended the back to school events, you were supplied with a pair of ISO/CE certified glasses. Please inspect your glasses before using. If they are scratched or damaged, they are not safe to use. Make sure you have your eyes covered with the glasses before looking up. Do not remove the glasses while any of the sun is visible. DO NOT LOOK THROUGH A CAMERA , TELESCOPE, OR BINOCULARS while wearing these glasses. The concentrated solar rays will damage your eyes.
If you purchase glasses, make sure they are from a Reputable Vendor and are ISO/Ce compliant.
Other ways to view the eclipse:
Make a Cereal Box Viewer - a safe indirect way for younger kids or anyone who does not have viewing glasses
